Letter 7: To Extremes

Review:
  • Was anyone struck by a scenario which seemed awful, but brought glory to God?
  • Were you able to delineate between fear and what you are afraid of?
Outline:
  • Should demons reveal themselves
    • if revealed, then can't deny existence (no materialists or skeptics)
    • if they hide, then can't get them caught up (no magicians and no direct terror)
    • drive to thinking it is supernatural, but not necessarily good/evil.
    • devils and comic imagery.
  • Take him to extremes 'all extremes, except extreme devotion to the Enemy, are to be encouraged.'
    • other periods of time they will strive for lukewarm and complacency
    • drive them to follow the 'cause' and make it impersonal
    • clique factor, self righteousness
    • 'ends' vs. 'means', do they use Christianity because it justifies their cause?

  • Coterie - an intimate, often exclusive group of people with a common interest
Questions/Discussions:
  • Do you believe in the enemy?
  • Do you only think of demons in movies or halloween?
  • Is Christ on your side or are you on Christ's side? self righteous?
